Safe Houses was a fantastic project to work on and has been a huge learning experience for me as a filmmaker. We were privileged to have great tools to add visual elements to the story. The story evolved as we discovered new areas to explore and to create a better understanding of our characters. The script evolved with our team from being rather barebones to what we ended with. We experimented with a lot different effects and techniques of creating our zombies and so our 2-3 hour film day turned into about 6-8 with makeup and run-throughs. Overall, we had a great team coming together to create this film.
